Enforcement reporting is not an availability notice

Vietnam News Agency reporting from 19 March 2018 describes a Ministry of Public Security announcement about an online gambling investigation. The report discusses virtual points that could be exchanged for money.

This is dated enforcement reporting, not a current statement of every Vietnamese gambling rule. It illustrates why calling a balance virtual points does not by itself establish a lawful exemption.

Verify the specific activity

Do not assume that permission concerning a physical casino covers an online service. Check current official requirements and seek qualified local legal advice. This guide does not confirm that Fish & Chips is licensed or lawfully available in Vietnam.

Website access, translation and payment acceptance do not establish permission. Neither adult status nor a foreign license resolves that question.

Protect yourself from further loss

If a dispute or suspected fraud has occurred, retain receipts and messages and contact appropriate authorities through verified channels. Do not send additional money to a person promising to unlock or recover funds. Never disclose a private key, recovery phrase or one-time code.

For gambling-related harm, seek a qualified local health professional. Source reviewed: 4 October 2026; the underlying report is from 2018 and is not legal advice.
